Police later confirmed to ITV News that there was "no risk to the public", confirming that they had charged an unnamed suspect for an alleged bomb hoax under Section 74 of the Terrorism and Crime (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2002.
The venue was hosting a celebration for Liberation Day, Guernsey and Jersey's national day to mark its liberation from Nazi occupying forces on May 9, 1945.
The suspect has been released on bail pending further investigation, and will appear in front of Guernsey Magistrate's Court next week (May 18).
Police are appealing for more information on the incident, particularly from any clubbers who may have heard a threat taking place within the venue on Saturday night, by calling 01481 222 222 or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
