Malia Obama went to Lollapalooza instead of the Democratic National Convention
She checked out Cashmere Cat at the Chicago festival
Outside of the music realm, politics have been dominating headlines as candidates took to the stages of the Republican and Democratic National Conventions.
Despite both Barack and Michelle Obama delivering noteworthy speeches, their daughter Malia Obama chose to forego the highly publicized political convention and headed to Chicago for the city's premier festival, Lollapalooza.
The 18-year old was spotted out in the crowd (non-VIP style!) with a group of friends and of course, her camouflaged Secret Service never too far away.
She was spotted checking out Cashmere Cat's set squeezed up close to the front row.
