Major labels have received royalties as independents still wait
The rest of the payments are expected to be made in the next few weeks
Major labels have received payments from Beatport, according to reports.
News surfaced earlier this week that labels were having royalties frozen as Beatport parent company SFX Entertainment went through a process of privatisation, but RA reports majors have now been paid for the last quarter (April to June), with independents still in limbo.
The remaining payments are expected to be made over the next few weeks and digital distributor EPM announced yesterday that it would be advancing payments to its label partners.
