Main stage collapses at Naples' Alien Sound Festival
The festival was called off as its "necessary authorisation" was withdrawn, though a rescheduled July date has since been set
Naples-based electronic music festival Alien Sound was forced to cancel over the weekend after its main stage collapsed.
Adverse weather and strong winds caused its towering main stage to topple over while under construction, just ahead of the two-day event, which was due to take place from July 4 - 5.
Alien Sound confirmed that the stage was empty at the time of its collapse and that there were no injuries. Videos of the stage falling have since circulated online.

While the festival team said in a statement posted on Friday, July 3, that they did everything they could to "allow the festival to take place", its "necessary authorisation" was revoked "despite the enormous efforts made by our team, who worked tirelessly, 24 hours a day".
"This is a decision totally independent of our will," they said. "We immediately contacted the artists' management to find a solution that could limit as much as possible the inconvenience caused."
Alien Sound will now host a one-day-only event on July 23 featuring some of the names on its 2026 bill, including Gordo and Ozune, with more details to be confirmed soon.

The festival also confirmed that guests can use their tickets to Alien Sound for entry to the July 23 event, and those who can no longer attend will be refunded.
"We know how much this situation may have caused discomfort and disappointment. However, we want to assure you that we have done everything in our power to allow the festival to take place on the originally scheduled dates," they said.
"We thank you for your trust, patience, and continued support. We will see you on July 23 to experience an even bigger edition of the Alien Sound Festival together."
