London's "first" spatial audio listening room to launch in Soho
The 360° audio experience will allow attendees to take in "multi-dimensional sound environments", powered by an L-Acoustics soundsystem
London's "first-ever" spatial audio listening room is set to open in Soho next month.
Coming from spatial audio specialists Polygon Productions, Polygon Portal is described as a "360° experience" allowing attendees to take in "multi-dimensional sound environments", powered by an L-Acoustics soundsystem.
Labels including Sony, Ninja Tune, Partisan, and Ghostly International are expected to hold showcases as part of the room's upcoming programme, alongside spatial audio premieres from artists such as Beth Orton, Sigur Rós, Fink and Jeff Buckley.

Attendance for events will be available via a free sign-up system with limited capacity. Events set to be held at Polygon Portal include a series of "one-off" live performances, album launches, playback of selected landmark albums and exclusive fan events.
Alongside its music events, Polygon Portal will also offer a "sound and wellbeing" programme, which will feature yoga sessions, pilates, sound baths, guided meditations and Qi Gong. Wellbeing sessions will also be hosted for music therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins, which they will also support through donations for events.

“Polygon’s immersive ‘Portal’ listening room concept brings the idea of music being more than something we just listen to, rather something we experience with our whole self, to life," says Nordoff and Robbins' Director of Fundraising Sandy Trappitt.
"It deeply resonates with our mission of using music and music therapy to enrich people’s lives, and we are proud to partner with such an innovative, forward thinking company.”
