London venue The Archives has launched a brand new series of events, The Index, set to highlight grassroots talent in the capital.

Launched as a way to challenge increasingly inflated prices in nightlife, The Index will offer £3 tickets and “slashed” drinks prices “at a time when London feels priced out and locked off”.

“Filed deep within the stacks at Archives, The Index is a grassroots party built for the community — not the industry,” the venue announced in May. “The Index holds space for those who keep the culture alive.”

The 1,600-capacity venue, which opened for the first time in Tottenham Hale last year, promises a “low cost, high energy” event that “puts the dancefloor first”, with each artist playing on the club’s Funktion 1 soundsystem, backed by “immersive visual installations”.

“Expect boundary-pushing sets that blur lines between UK techno, percussive club, drum ‘n’ bass mutations, future jungle and more — programmed to celebrate local talent and underground energy.”

The first event in the series is set to go ahead on Friday, June 20, from 10:PM until 4:AM, featuring Babaganoush, fat hands, Folek, LTECH, Alythia Kwan, and more, as well as some unannounced competition winners.

The Archives first opened in February 2024 in Tottenham, north London, situated on the ground floor of High Cross Business Centre, a six-storey industrial warehouse-turned social hub.

Since opening last year, the venue has hosted the likes of Sasha, DJ Boring, KI/KI, Skin On Skin, Chloé Caillet, Jeff Mills, I. JORDAN, James Blake, Sara Landry, and more.
