Listen to Hodge and the Hotline crew destroy Rinse FM
Don't mess with Bristol
Need pure fire from the depths of Bristol? Listen no further than the Hotline takeover of Rinse FM.
The vinyl-only label and covert party squad was in full effect during Hodge's two-hour slot on Tuesday night.
The South West selector has previously released an incendiary 12" via the imprint and he invited fellow Bristol heads Batu (responsible for the most recent Hotline single), Ishan Sound (who's done an EP on sister label Peng! Sound) and Too Lava (a collab project between label boss Ossia and Lurka) to join him on the London station.
This crew of artists spans a variety of rough, tough, underground dancefloor sounds and the Hotline showcase mix purveys that perfectly. Split into sections representing each DJ, it moves through gully and nails techno, low-end workouts, rhythmic excursions, downtempo rollers, some moments of pure weirdness and, of course, a smattering of jungle.
Highly recommended! You can catch the squad in effect this Friday, 17 July, in London.
