Liam Hodges and ellesse serve up sci-fi tennis-inspired collaboration

ellesse and British designer Liam Hodges come together to unveil their second collaborative collection for SS20.

Inspired by the brand’s rich tennis heritage and Liam Hodges’ signature futuristic aesthetic, this second offering follows on from the AW19 partnership, which saw Hodges’ reimagining of the brand’s skiwear heritage.

For SS20, ellesse x Liam Hodges merges heritage sportswear with low-fi graphics and sci-fi nostalgia, for an 80s-inspired aesthetic. Hodges describes this as ‘Boris Becker meets Tron’.

Neon piping, special print and embroidery treatments feature across the collection, which includes shorts, t-shirts, and sweatshirts, all produced in light and breathable fabrics.

Graphics and text used throughout the collection reference digital landscapes and video game visuals, whilst championing classic court style. A range of accessories accompany the range in the form of bucket hats and caps and are also inspired by ellesse archive designs.

The 18-piece apparel capsule was debuted at Liam Hodges’ SS20 show at last year’s London Fashion Week Men’s. The full collection is available to buy at www.ellesse.co.uk.
