Leeds community and arts space The Imaginarium has moved to the city centre

Leeds arts and community space The Imaginarium has moved to a permanent new home in the city centre.

Having opened via a soft launch in October, the space offers a cafe, recording studio, plant and record store. There's also a multi-use event space upstairs which hosted a party this week with Eighth Motif, with November 18 seeing the venue host promoters Planet Orange.

Now in the city centre the space and its potential will be available for use to a new portion of folk in Leeds, with The Imaginarium promising to not "lose any of its personal touches" so loved by those who attended its Kirkstall venue.

"The Imaginarium is a space where people can indulge their creativity in different areas," explains director Rory Flynn. "We’ll be working alongside the local community to put on music events, arts and yoga classes and various workshops. Our intention is to create a hub for people in Leeds to hang out, grab a coffee and a sandwich, and discuss creative concepts and ideas."

It is worth noting that not only will the upstairs space host electronic music events, but also plans to showcase acoustic nights to fully take advantage of what the venue describes "is intended to be a world-class soundsystem".

Ran by a collective of producers, DJs, visual artists and promoters, the Kirkstall-founded venue proposes to offer a welcoming and inclusive space for creatives within the vibrant city, with its Community Interest Company status resulting in its offering of creative courses and classes alongside the aformentioned performances to benefit the local community.

The venue will also be available for private hire, offering a boutique space for local creatives to share endeavours in their own way whilst situated in a prime location.
