Laurent Garnier's 'Electrochoc', the seminal producer's book on the history of dance music, will be printed in English for the first time on July 2. The book was first published in French in 2003.

'Electrochoc' charts the history of the electronic music scene over the last 30 years. It starts before Paris' pirate radio scene and the UK's acid house explosion, moving through Manchester's Hacienda, and onto Detroit, New York, Chicago and beyond.

Rocket 88 books will publish the 'Electrochoc' translation. A film of the book has also been put into production, with Garnier on board. Filming for that is due to start later this year.

You can pre-order the book here. Pre-orders are set to ship early, on May 5.
