Manchester-based DJ and producer Kylie Goes Berghain has changed their alias following legal threats from the Berlin nightclub after which they take their name.

Last week, Kylie Goes Berghain shared a statement on Instagram explaining that they received a “gentle request to avoid legal action”, forcing them to drop the word Berghain from their name.

The anonymous DJ, who plays electronic edits of Kylie Minogue tracks exclusively in their sets, said that the name was initially “a fun idea to play all the great Kylie remixes out there”.

“The name came from a white label remix of ‘Slow’, while we’re on it,” they explained. “The act ended up being something very different – an entire set of exclusive Kylie edits, all made in house.”

They continued: “The name has carried it from the beginnings of a mad idea to something way beyond that and much bigger than I ever could have anticipated.”

They then revealed their new alias, Kylie Wears Berghaus, which they will use for all shows going forward – including forthcoming appearances at Patterns in Brighton and The DBA in Manchester.

“It probably needed an update anyway,” they said. “Same act, different name. See you soon. Keep it Kylie.”

The Manchester DJ first debuted the project in late 2024, and has since gone on to perform at venues including Leeds’ Headrow House, Birmingham’s Pan-Pan, and London’s MOT.
