Kidnap Kid in The Lab NYC
'Birds That Fly' lands in Brooklyn for a private Thursday set
The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. This Thursday, Mixmag is excited to welcome Kidnap Kid for an exclusive set.
Kidnap Kid has been making his rounds on the electronic circuit and is known for his signature synthy, melodic house style and rise through Black Butter Records. Though he first stepped onto the scene winning iTunes US's 'Best Electronic Song of 2012' with his original track 'Vehl', the artist now boasts his own label called Birds That Fly Records, which houses releases from artists like Amtrac and Applebottom.
The imprint's debut work was Kidnap Kid's 'Moments' EP, a highly resonating package of which the leading track, under the same title, hit a collective 10 million streams since its release seven months ago. The artist hit another major milestone when the legendary Maceo Plex chose 'Moments' as the closing track to his CRSSD Festival performance, along with high acclaim from a number of other top of the line producers.
Next for Kidnap Kid is the 'Brokenhearted' EP, issued through his own Birds That Fly imprint on September 30.
The Lab NYC is strongly powered by Void Acoustics. Tune into MixmagTV to watch Kidnap Kid's exclusive set in The Lab NYC below.
