Kaytranada calls out the JUNO Awards after having his nomination revoked
He called the Canadian awards show "out of touch"
Earlier this week, the JUNO Awards unveiled their nominations, honoring A-Trak, Diplo, Keys N Krates and Kaytranada as nominees for the Dance Recording of the Year.
A few days later, the Canadian Grammy-equivalent seems to have changed its mind on one nomination, citing that the untraditional way it was released has disqualified it. The track in question is Kaytranada's 'At All', which saw an original release on SoundCloud back in 2013, but wasn't released on iTunes until April of 2015.
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences has since replaced Kaytranada's track with 'Zero Gravity' from Borgeous & Lights. The Montreal artist, however, didn't take to the news lightly.
"Shoutout to the Canadian music scene for being so out of touch," he began in a series of Tweets. "They disqualified my JUNO nomination because the song is old [...] and that's what I mean about them being out of touch, they could've put my most recent song."
He ended his rant by stating that the awards show has lost his respect due to their lack of research into the track which they originally nominated, but claims that he's still seeking proper recognition from the awards show.

i've lot my respect to the Junos, cause they don't know what they're nominating. They need more kids in their offices to take care of that.

last thing im going to say is that me and my manager were not aware of the submission that Ultra made so we could be nominated.
