Karen Nyame KG launches new label Rhythm In The City

Karen Nyame KG has launched a new label called Rhythm In The City.

The artist, affectionately known as the “Goddess of Rhythm”, has mint the label with the release of new single ‘P.L.L’, which stands for Pretty Little Liar.

The track will feature on her upcoming EP ‘Red’, which is out later this Autumn and will showcase her trademark of redesigning UK club music by fusing it with Ghanaian influences and emotive narratives.

KG describes the new single as “a diary entry in music format” which has an “electronic, low-end, Afro percussive bounce.” She adds: “It is a tale of heartbreak, jealousy and unrequited love.”

Rhythm in the City is named after her party, which is described by KG as an event for the “grown and sexy”.

She says the event series, which regularly sells out across London, makes people “dance, seduce, but better yet, feel.”

Karen adds, “RITC is an extension of my own production signature that embodies a multitude of styles, UK Funky, Altè r&b, Afro Altè, Gqom, Amapiano, Highlife, Afro House. The RITC sound is unconventionally rhythmic, a hub for genre-bending, Afro-Electronic music. The label is all about breaking conventions and formulas in electronic dance music.”
