Kamera
Ventoux
9/10
Back in May, Kamera burst onto the scene with stunning debut EP 'Arc'. Handpicked for Erol Alkan's Phantasy label, the raw, side-winding record had us pretty excited for what his future held. Now he's back with another four-tracker, and it's a blinder.
The 'Ventoux' EP is as intricate as it is warped, blending dusty beats with glitchy production while retaining a danceable aesthetic. The title track is beautifully delicate in parts, its soft tones backed with dense chords, whereas 'Consignia' is more acidic and forceful.
'MF15' is aimed at the floor, and Erol will no doubt draw for this at the height of his sets. 'Voodoo Canape' is the ambient, whimsical closer and a fitting end to another stormer from Kamera.
