Just A Gent in The Lab SYD

The Lab is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly live stream, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our world famous international office party and this week The Lab SYD welcomes 19-year-old Just A Gent.

Teaching himself the ropes at the ripe age of 14, Just A Gent was just 16 when he scored a spot at national Australian dance festival Listen Out thrusting him into the spotlight. The following years have seen him remix the likes of Alison Wonderland, Peking Duck, and ZHU whilst playing sell out shows across the country, and all before he could legally set foot in the club.

His debut EP 'Stories To Tell' out August 26 is a milestone moment for the young producer who wrote, produced, mixed, and mastered the entire record from his home studio in Maitland, NSW. His genre-bending brand of electronica sent his lead single 'Heavy As A Heartbreak' straight to #1 on the Hype Machine charts, while the emotional new single 'Rolling Dice’ displays artistic maturity well beyond his years.

It’s a busy few months for Just A Gent, having just signed to Casablanca / Lokal Legend in the U.S. and premiering his first packed out live show at Aussie festival Splendour in the Grass in July.
