Joy Orbison releases new track 'red velve7'

Joy Orbison has just dropped a new dance track, '‘red velve7’.

Joy Orbison - real name Peter O'Grady- has just released his latest track 'red velve7'. Earlier this year, he released his debut mixtape 'still slipping vol. 1' on XL Recordings.

In an Instagram caption, Joy O said: "‘red velve7’ is basically me on my decks staring at my bedroom wall when i was a kid, wishing i was doing my big intro on the valve sound-system (instead of clanging it up on my belt driven numarks)"

The artwork for 'red velve7' is a photograph of Joy O's grandmother, who “ran a music-themed pub in west London”.

The producer also added that he’s sitting on “quite a lot of unreleased music” and is “just getting started”.

'red velve7' has an ambient start with whimsical bars and a soft melody, before speeding up in tempo to become a dancefloor-ready track.
