The Lab NYC is Mixmag and WAV's weekly live stream and post-work unwind, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our Brooklyn office. This Friday, June 1, we'll host the Origins boss Josh Butler to showcase the bumping music that's made him one of the most in-demand DJs on the club circuit.
Throughout his career Josh Butler has earned a reputation for producing tracks that are constantly rinsed on dancefloors around the world. He rose quickly off the heels of his 2013 hit track ‘Got A Feeling’ which received numerous awards from the industry. Since then he's relentlessly kept up the momentum, gracing acclaimed imprints like Roush, Cajual, Madtech, Avotre, VIVa and Noi, among others.
On the DJ front, he's proven to be highly sought after, with numerous summer-long Ibiza residencies at Sankeys and Ibiza Rocks, festival appearances at Glastonbury, Defected Croatia, Parklife, Secret Garden Party, and multiple US and Australian Tours.
With his Origins label, launched in 2016, Butler's tastemaker status is well cemented, having worked with legends like Marshall Jefferson, Todd Terry, Robert Owens, gaining the top spot on Beatport charts and also further releasing material on respected imprints like Kaoz Theory, Rejected and Defected. Plus, his collaborations with Kerri Chandler and Darius Syrossian and remixes for industry heavyweights Carl Cox and Joris Voorn, all made serious waves. When he graces The Lab NYC he'll showcase why he's regarded as one of clubland's most exciting talents.
After The Lab NYC, Josh Butler will be playing at the Paradise event with Jamie Jones, Tiga, Richy Ahmed and more at The Brooklyn Mirage on Saturday, June 2. Find tickets here
