Jlin's from Gary, Indiana, aka the Steel City, and is a steel worker herself, which perhaps explains why her brand of footwork is so tough, intense and propulsive.

This year's debut album 'Dark Energy' is defiantly singular thanks to its twisted vision of the genre and it's followed by 'Free Fall', an EP which is just as affronting. Battle track 'I Am The Queen' is an exhilarating beatdown and 'BuZilla' is a party-starting re-tool of RP Boo's infamous Godzilla Track (which was of course unfairly credited to DJ Slugo upon its release in 2001), with vocal shouts from the man himself (another fact: Boo helped Jlin learn how to DJ). 'Eu4ria' is nightmarishly fun, and perhaps the most original piece of work on this EP.

More please.
