Jean-Michel Jarre completes his 40 year trilogy with 'Oxygene 3'
A historic milestone for one of the most celebrated composers
Jean-Michel Jarre, one of electronic music's most legendary producers, debuted his layered, experimental sound with 'Oxygene' in 1977.
After evolving into a multiplatinum artist and continuing the 'Oxygene' series in 1997 with its second installment, Jarre finally completes his iconic trilogy 40 years later.
'Oxygene 3', which is specifically volumes 14-20, releases in December and will further explore Jean-Michel's classic motifs of outer space and human experience.
The album's seven tracks embrace both newly modern and classic means of music production, acting more of a comparison than recap of the trilogy's original work. The famed composer also enlisted his debut album's visual artist, Michel Granger, to recreate the seminal 'Oxygene' skull in a three-dimensional version for the trilogy's closing.
Jean-Michel Jarre promises to debut live excerpts of 'Oxygene 3' in his upcoming Electronica Tour, kicking off on October 4 in Wales.
'Oxygene 3' will be available on CD, vinyl and in a special edition box-set on December 2.
