Jamiroquai recently shared a teaser video on Facebook alluding to a forthcoming album, titled 'Automaton', which will be their first in seven years.

The clip, dubbed #AUTOMATON TRANSMISSION 001, features the band’s frontman Jay Kay exploring a variety of dystopian locations while the synth-heavy track builds into a futuristic beat. Longtime fans will recognize the headgear worn by Kay, although there's been a major upgrade to the technology.

Judging by the video clip, 'Automaton' will further explore the sci-fi and futuristic aesthetic Jamiroquai have become known for, building on a foundation of funk and jazz.

No release date for 'Automaton' has been revealed at this time.

More information regarding the album will be announced in the coming months and you can view the album’s teaser video below.
