Jamie Woon
Making Time
8/10
It's been four years since Jamie Woon released his critically acclaimed soulful debut LP 'Mirrorwriting' – and, apart from a brief cameo on Disclosure's 'January' back in 2013, the BRIT School graduate has stayed silent until now. Each track on his album 'Making Time' is given room to breathe, allowing the listener to get lost in his warm storytelling ('Forgiven Lament').
On standout track 'Sharpness' (which is undoubtedly one of the best tunes of 2015), his heartfelt serenade glides over water droplet synths, while 'Celebration' sounds like a full jazz band telling a folk tale.
It's a comeback LP that's perfect for late night listening and long winter drives – and one that's been well worth waiting for.
