GoFundMe launched to help support Jamie Tiller's family

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been launched to help support the family of DJ, producer and Music from Memory co-founder Jamie Tiller.

Friend Jen Harris and mother Chrissie Tiller have organised the fundraiser to support his wife Tasya, and six year old son max - who live in Berlin.

Harris describes the late DJ as "an absolute inspiration and amazing friend" who leaves behind a legacy "that will continue to touch and inspire people all around the world."

The fundraiser cites unexpected expenses that Tasya now faces, including travel fees, paperwork processing costs, an immigration lawyer to ensure she can stay in Berlin plus footing the cost of paying rent and the costs of caring for and raising Max on her own.

Tiller's wife is Ukranian and requires a VISA to get to the UK, where her son is a citizen — complicating matters involved with the need to go back and forth from her husband's home country.

The GoFundMe has been organised to cover the costs and ease what has become a "cruel and costly process," as well as provide for her young son's future.

Music from Memory, which Tiller co-founded with Tako Reyenga in 2013, became a mainstay for shedding light on hidden artists, pledging to put as much effort into reissuing under-appreciated music from the past as well as original material from the likes of Suso Saiz, Yu Su and more.

This attitude was also reflected in Tiller's performances as a DJ, which saw him travel across the world with his eclectic and invigorating selections.

In four days the fundraiser has raised over €34,000, already nearing its target of €35,000, reflecting how many lives Tiller had touched through his work as a DJ and label head spotlighting underground talents, as a producer with his art and as a dear friend and family member.
