​Ja Rule claims he is planning a new music festival

Just when you thought the whole Fyre Festival saga could not go deeper, the story just keeps on giving.

After being confronted by paparazzi in LAX, Ja Rule - a core player of the world's most famous festival fiasco - said that he is planning to launch a new music festival called Iconnic music fest. The event's name derives from his new Iconn app business venture that essentially operates the exact same way as the doomed Fyre app that the rapper and the currently incarcerated Billy McFarland created together.

When touching on the subject of Fyre Festival, Ja Rule doesn't humor about it. "It's not funny to me, man," he said. "It's heartbreaking to me. It was something that I really, really wanted to be special and amazing and it just didn't turn out that way. But, you know, in the midst of chaos there's opportunity. So I'm working on a lot of new things. I got my new platform Iconn".

When asked about how similar Iconn is to the original Fyre app, Ja Rule didn't deny it. "It is kinda similar to what the app was but you gotta understand the app was separate from the festival," he noted.

Despite the surging popularity of the Fyre Festival documentaries on both Hulu and Netflix, Ja Rule claims that has not watched either of them. "They're very popular, they're very popular," he says. "Maybe one day. I lived it, man. I ain't gotta watch it".

Before promptly dashing away with a smile on his face, Ja Rule ended the LAX encounter saying: "[Fyre Fest] is the most iconic festival that never was, so I have plans to create the Iconnic music fest. But you ain't hear it from me".
