Who’d have thought that in such a short space of time, London imprint Lobster Theremin could make such an impact on the electronic music scene. Started by Asquith back in 2013, the label specialises in a musty, analogue sound that spans house, techno, ambient, acid and everything in between. The first release was Palm Trax’s ‘Equation’ and from there the output just hasn’t stopped. Route 8, Daze and Ozel AB have all found a home on the label and across the four of its sister-imprints, there have been a staggering 55 releases in just three years. That sort of statistic speaks for itself and their popularity around the world is justified on that basis.
