More screen adaptions of Irvine Welsh's work could be on the way, according to the writer.

The Porno author, the novel T2: Trainspotting is based on, told NME that he has plans for all of the material he’s written.

“It’s all ruling on cable TV, cable TV has some interesting developments,” he said about potential adaptations of other characters. “We’re working on all these different kind of things.”

“I think now anybody who’s in the book, whether the like it or not, they’re working on the way of being in the film. You keep that in mind. As soon as you’ve written it, you’re thinking about how it can move into different mediums.”

“Basically, I’ve plans for them all. All in various kind of schedules or adaptations," he added.

Welsh became a household name when his book Trainspotting was adapted into a 1996 movie directed by Danny Boyle and featuring Ewan McGregor and Robert Carlyle.

Welsh’s last book was The Blade Artist which focused on original Trainspotting character Begbie. In 2012 he wrote the prequel to Trainspotting, Skagboys.

T2: Trainspotting is released on January 27 in the UK and February 3 in the US. Watch the full trailer for it here.
