Investigation launched following alleged sexual assault at Berghain
Berlin Police are looking into the alleged crime, which was reported earlier in March
An investigation has been launched by Berlin’s police force after a Berghain attendee alleged that they were sexually assaulted at the Berlin club earlier this month.
According to Berliner Zeitung, an attendee was allegedly raped at the club on Sunday, March 2, during a Klubnacht event.
Speculation around the alleged perpetrator began to circulate in a Berghain community group on Reddit last week. A user claimed that the incident happened in the Panorama Bar toilets, and that police are now involved.
A spokesperson for the Berlin Police told Berliner Zeitung: "I can confirm that a specialist department for sexual offenses within the State Criminal Police Office is conducting an investigation into a matter that matches your inquiry."
The spokesperson said that no further information could be provided on the alleged incident due to data protection and privacy rights.
