IMOGEN announces launch of Wigs label, shares inaugural release WIGS001

IMOGEN has announced the launch of her label, Wigs, marking its extension from a community-focused emphatic party and workshop series.

Accompanying its launch is the inaugural WIGS001, boasting collaborations with DJ Stingray 313, Ben Pest, DJ Plant Texture and Jerome Hill. Lead single 'A New Earth', from IMOGEN and DJ Stingray, is available now.

The cut blends techno and electro seamlessly with pummelling energy throughout, whilst follow-up 'Synth of Hearts' - a piece of work IMOGEN produced with Ben Pest - takes a grittier approach to electro, with acid basslines intertwining throughout.

Moving onto its second half, DJ Plant Texture and Jerome Hill take the reins - with the former looping a sample, marrying it to a jacking, acidic frenzy - before Plant Texture slices broken vocals with suave percussives to create a driving dancefloor cut.

"Super happy to finally have the first wigs release out to the world," IMOGEN told Mixmag. "This release felt like a long time coming after two years of throwing parties and cultivating the sound of the label and growing the community. Over the next few releases I’m excited to showcase new talent and build the wigs family."

Since its inception as a party series, Wigs has hosted parties and workshops across Europe involving names such as Daria Kolosova, Salome, UR Trax and more, with a simultaneous show on NTS where IMOGEN has played b2b with Helena Hauff, Identified Patent and Daniel Avery to name a few.

Next week, on November 15 and 16, Wigs is landing in New York for an in store release party with an in store showcase at Phonica in London to celebrate the release day on December 1.
