London's Imaginary Forces takes up the Halcyon mantle on 'And What?', his debut for the label and an extension of the volatile, dystopian material that label boss Rabit explored on his recent LP 'Communion'. From the rasping crackles, screeches and fuzz on the title track, the scene is quickly set: think nuclear fallout meets outer space. Blitzed sounds continue apace on the militant 'Chat 'Bout', while 'High Rise' casts an even bleaker, more sinister blur over the EP, before the grime-slanted 'Make Ends Meet' offers a sense of more conventional rhythm to close. Deathly.
