Illegal rave in Northamptonshire barn causes nearby houses to “shake”
The unlicensed event was reportedly shut down by police after 12 hours last weekend
An illegal rave that took place in a barn in Northamptonshire last weekend reportedly caused neighbouring houses to “shake”.
The Northampton Chronicle reports that police were called to the unlicensed event in Litchborough, a small village with just over 300 residents, just before 11:20PM on Saturday, February 28.
The rave then continued through the night and into the next day, before reportedly stopping at around 12:PM on Sunday, March 1, more than 12 hours after initial noise complaints.

One anonymous local shared their frustrations on Facebook, writing: “So all-night rave last night then? I can’t have been the only one to have heard it – the whole of Weedon could I’m sure.”
Another commented: “It’s some kind of rave happening in a barn in the field next to ours… if you can hear it in Heyford you can probably imagine how loud it is in my house – it’s literally shaking.”
One person in attendance at the event then shared a photo in response, showing a soundsystem rig set up inside a barn as dozens gathered in front of it. “It’s a hell of a party,” they said. “It’s stopping at 3:PM ish just to let you know.”

Other locals rallied behind the ravers, encouraging them to “keep having fun”. One commented: “If you can’t beat them... join them. It’s only 1 night – think yourself lucky! Most of these go on for days.”
Police said that they worked to “prevent further cars accessing the property on the night”, adding that the event was "shut down safely the next day” at around 12:PM.
