Identification of Music (IOM) are launching a new event series titled Breaking In.

The series aims to bring together a wealth of producers, artists, DJs and more from across the electronic music and nightlife arenas, inviting them in to discuss their first steps into the industry.

Industry veteran Robin Millar, DJ and label head Barely Legal (pictured) and DJ Faro have been confirmed for the first event, which takes place on March 27 at W12 Studios, London.

"We are launching Breaking In to shine light on talent and connect people with original ideas from the IOM community,” Robbie Murch, director of IOM, tells Mixmag over email. “Some of the UK's best producers, DJs, London's budding new nightclub owners, promoters and agencies come together to connect with each other.”

He adds, “Social media can be pretty naff the best of times, but we hope we can use our large online presence to help nurture and support the new generation.”

Tickets for the first Breaking In event are on sale now for £5, with 20 per cent of the proceeds going to industry foundation Last Night a DJ Saved My Life. The remaining profits will go toward’s building IOM’s new scheme B Side.
