Kathy Brown announces new single 'Turn Me Deeper' raising money for cancer treatment

Toolroom Records is set to release new single 'Turn Me Deeper', featuring Kathy Brown — with all proceeds going to support the beloved house vocalist through cancer treatment.

Set for release on January 19, the single features Brown's iconic vocals over production from Toolroom affiliates Wh0, Mark Knight, and James Hurr.

Proceeds for the single will go to Kathy Brown's GoFundMe campaign, which was launched in October last year by her daughter Chanta Joyner after the 'Turn Me Out' singer was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.

On the GoFundMe page, Joyner has written about the challenges her mother has faced since her diagnosis: “Without being able to perform LIVE there’s little to no chance of earning an income.”

“My mother has poured her heart and soul onto stages and dance floors all over the world for more than thirty years, and now she needs your love and support more than ever.”

Proceeds up to $10,000 are to be matched by the London-based record label Revival Records, which re-released four of Brown’s 2023 singles, including ‘Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher’.

Revival writes that they are “inspired by a love for house music and a desire to make great dance records.”

Throughout her career, Brown has established herself as one of the best-loved voices of house, featuring on dozens of house and club singles with other dance greats such as David Morales.

Originally from South Carolina, Kathy Brown moved to New York to sing in a Gospel Choir in the late 1960s before finding success as the lead singer of the group Praxis. Her track ‘Joy’ with David Morales is widely regarded as one of the all-time great house records.

Kathy Brown was seen in September last year, serenading Ryanair passengers en route to a recording session in Italy, reports Metro.
