Hardwell: "I'm a bit sick of the formula in EDM right now"
The Dutch producer expressed his wish to explore different styles on his new album
Dutch producer Hardwell has admitted to becoming "sick" of what's going on with electronic dance music.
He joins Steve Angello, Porter Robinson and Avicii, who have all become disillusioned with EDM over the last year.
During an interview at A State of Trance 650 in Utrecht, the DJ gave an insight into what his album might sound like, expressing his wish to do something slightly different.
"I'm experimenting with a lot of new, different sounds. I'm a bit sick of the same formula that's going on in EDM right now so I'm just trying to change boundaries and look at what's going on in the rest of the world. Even in the hip hop scene and the trance scene and try to combine as much as possible."
