HARD Summer takeover with GTA and Born Dirty in The Lab LA
A two act takeover ahead of a favorite Los Angeles festival
The Lab LA is Mixmag weekly live stream and post-work unwind, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our Los Angeles office. This Thursday, we welcome a special HARD Summer takeover with GTA and Born Dirty.
The duo known as GTA stand by their promise of "good times ahead" by ignoring genre boundaries and pulling from their melting pot of musical influences - made up of Latin, urban, electronic rock - taken from their hometown of Miami. Inspired by their first excursions to Ultra Music Festival and after coming together over a shared love of System of a Down, the two have gone on to release on esteemed labels like Mad Decent and Fool's Gold, remixed the likes of Deadmau5 to Kylie Minogue and have toured with Rihanna, Calvin Harris and beyond. Now in the midst of their ongoing Yellow Tour, GTA stop by The Lab LA with a "purple set" (house) for a special takeover for HARD Summer.
Born Dirty has captured the heart of a new rising wave of bass and hip-hop inspired house. The French artist splits his time between London and Los Angeles, and has received outstanding support from revered labels like OWSLA, Dirtybird, Mad Decent and Night Bass and collaborated with Anna Lunoe on the anthemic 'Badass'.
On opening duties, we welcome Los Angeles-based DJ 1080p.
