Grimes confirms she's pregnant

Grimes confirmed this week that she is pregnant, but hasn’t confirmed the paternity. So it’s not clear whether the baby is the progeny of Elon Musk, the founder of electric car company Tesla and the man who wants to put cars on the moon, although they have been publicly in a relationship since 2018.

This comes after an ambiguous Instagram that she posted which is, in true Grimes fashion, an arty interpretation of a maternity photo shoot. The original was taken down because her nipples were uncensored.

She also posted another photo on Instagram soon afterwards that clearly shows Grimes with a pregnant stomach, although it had no caption.

The ambiguity became murkier as she launched social media accounts for War Nymph, a ‘digital avatar I’ve been working on for a while’, Grimes clarified in a recent tweet.

‘It is not a social media account for my unborn child. Plz [sic] don’t try to create controversy about my baby, whose privacy I plan on protecting.’

Grimes’ latest album Miss Anthropocene is pegged for release on February 21.
