Gorillaz to host ‘Humanz’ global listening party with augmented reality app
Bringing together fans from over 500 locations
As the release of their album ‘Humanz’ inches closer, Gorillaz continue to roll out more promo. This time in the form of a global listening party via their augmented reality app.
The technology in the app has the ability to superimpose images like those seen in the band’s new videos as the user looks through their phone’s camera. On April 28 the global listening party will take place within the app.
A press release revealed what to expect: “Fans will be invited – via the app – to the Humanz House Party, an exclusive worldwide listening event which will allow fans to hear the new album in full for the first time. The Humanz House Party will be the largest ever geo-specific listening experience bringing people together across 500 locations.”
The global listening party is just the latest in a string of news to come out of the Gorillaz camp as of late, including the Gorillaz Spirit House, a 10-episode cartoon and even a live show featuring the animated characters.
