Gilles Peterson unveils new UK festival for 2019
We Out Here will take place August 15 to 18 in Cambridgeshire
Gilles Peterson has announced a brand new UK festival.
Presented by Peterson, Worldwide FM and Brownswood Recordings, We Out Here has been described as a “Worldwide Family Gathering”.
Bringing together some of the world’s brightest stars from across the musical spectrum, festival-goers can expect to hear everything from jazz to techno via a hybrid selection of electronic music material throughout the inaugural edition.
The festival takes its name from Brownswood’s 2018 compilation 'We Out Here', which featured material from the likes of Moses Boyd and Shabaka Hutchings. The festival addition will “further build on the essence of the album, representing an exciting vanguard of talent.”
Discussing the festival via a press release Peterson explained, “What’s amazing about the scene here is that there’s so much legacy as well as being so much future. It really is about bringing all that together on one amazing site.”
Brownswood and Worldwide head honcho Peterson unveiled the new event during last night’s Worldwide Awards in London. The ceremony featured performances from the likes of slowthai, Children of Zeus and HAAi.
We Out Here will take place August 15 to 18 in Cambridgeshire, with the exact festival location still yet to be revealed. The full line-up and the festival site will be announced on February 6.
Early bird tickets will be available to purchase via the mailing list, sign up here. Full price tickets will be available after the line-up and festival site announcement.
