Giant Swan have announced that they will take an “indefinite pause” on all activity following abuse allegations against the duo’s Robin Stewart.

Allegations made by Stewart’s ex-partner, Daniela (also known as PMS Casualty), surfaced on Twitter last Thursday, February 22. Her posts have now been made private.

Daniela accused Stewart of verbal and emotional abuse and ignoring sexual consent amongst other allegations, which she claims took place over the course of nine-and-a-half years while the pair were dating, and Daniela was recovering from cancer.

Following the statements made by Daniela on Thursday, Giant Swan announced that they would no longer be performing their scheduled slot at Bristol festival Simple Things the following Saturday. The festival made a follow-up announcement stating that “all parties” had agreed on their removal from the line-up.

“In light of recent details made public regarding a member of Giant Swan, all parties have come to the conclusion it would not be appropriate for them to perform at Simple Things,” the festival announced on Instagram on Friday.

Both members of Giant Swan have now made public statements on Instagram following their Simple Things cancellation. Robin Stewart, whose solo alias is RS Tangent, claimed to be undergoing therapy and pledged to “address the full measure of my personal culpability concerning the mistakes I have made”.

He added that Giant Swan will pause all activity “indefinitely” until further notice. Giant Swan’s second member, Harry Wright, whose solo alias is Mun Sing, also posted a statement on the duo's Instagram earlier today (February 27), expressing support for Daniela and the need for accountability from Stewart, as well as confirming their indefinite hiatus.

Mixmag has reached out to Giant Swan. They gave no further comment.
