Techno titans Luke Slater, Steve Bicknell and David Sumner, AKA Function, have combined forces as LSD, a new project with a debut release via Ostgut Ton.

The moniker is appropriate as LSD is the first letter of each of their names, while the project will also “focus on the psychedelic aspects of techno while emphasizing their overlapping styles and rhythmic sensitivity.”

The debut EP titled ‘Process’ has been highly anticipated since the trio debuted the project with a special set at Berghain in 2016. That said, their connection dates back much further, with Steve and Luke remixing each other’s work during the early 90s and Function inviting Steve to play his night at the legendary Limelight nightclub in NYC. Function and Luke also collaborated on the LB Dub Corp material in 2013.

The new material is described by Ostgut Ton as Steve, Luke and David’s “interpretation of stroboscopic intensity on the summit of psychedelic experiences - permeated with moments of hypnotic and atonal melodies, as impelling as enchanting.”

LSD’s ‘Process’ EP is set for release on November 17. Listen to previews below.
