On this EP we get a small sample of Figure-Ground’s obvious ability to straddle different genres, with some breaky, drum ’n’ bass- influenced music side by side with the techno.
‘Figure-Ground 11’ keeps it techno, albeit with a rough and tumble breakbeat foundation. It has a slower, steady pace with unnerving high-pitched frequencies and mysterious, cosmic bleeps together with a trundling low end.
A good mix of darkness and lighter textures.
