Fetty Wap has pleaded guilty to the federal charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances and will be facing a minimum sentence of five years in prison with a maximum of 40 years as reported by The New York Times.

The rapper whose real name is Willie Junior Maxwell II was arrested in October 2021 in Queens, New York along with five other men in connection to “distributed more than 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine across Long Island and New Jersey.”

The authorities accused the men of importing the drugs from the West Coast using the United States Postal Service before storing the drugs in Suffolk County.

Although five defendants were charged with using firearms in connection with drug trafficking, Mr. Maxwell was not.

After his arrest he was released on $500,000 bond however earlier this month he was arrested again and his bond was revoked after he had allegedly threatened to kill someone during a FaceTime call last year.

On Monday, a prosecutor told a magistrate judge, Steven I. Locke of Federal District Court that around the first half of 2020 Maxwell had conspired in Suffolk County to distribute “well in excess” of 500g of cocaine in New Jersey.
