Vancouver’s Public Disco is launching a festival
Public Disco is celebrating 10 years of operation this year and launching a festival offshoot to mark the occasion.
Public Disco Festival takes place on Saturday, October 3, in the Shipyards District on the waterfront of North Vancouver.
International headliners locked in to play include Leon Vynehall, Fred P, Prosumer and DJ Holographic, with Canadian DJs on the bill include Dane, DJ Hannah, Scott W, Kozue, Christa Belle and Serena S.
The event will be spread across three areas: The Shipyards Commons, an open-air steel-framed structure with sky and water views, will be the main stage; the Pipe Shop Venue will be an adjacent all-vinyl listening room, hosted inside a restored industrial building; and the Shipbuilders’ Square is an outdoor plaza hosting chill-out spaces and a food market.
“Public Disco has always been about transformation. The Shipyards District is a brilliant example of that same spirit, a post-industrial waterfront reimagined as one of the region’s favourite gathering spaces.,” says Nickolas Collinet, Executive Director, Public Disco, “This fall, we’re bringing artists who have helped shape and sustain house music culture to a site that was built to be reclaimed by the public. We can’t wait to see it come alive.”
