Fang Lilies

Desto & Teeth's new joint project Fang Lilies explores the experimental grime continuum with genuine craft on the inaugural volume of 'Chameleon Crystals'. Indeed there is an icy, crystalline element to the off-kilter zaps, trickling melodies and intermittent bass stabs but here, the style is more than backed up by substance. The relentless Jersey club bounce of 'BK Stomp' is an anomaly but that aside, the bubblegum melodies, razor sharp claps and statement bass pulses on 'Color Crop' are reminiscent of Dark0, while final track 'Echelon' dazzles with skewed beat-programming and killer, purple-y synths.
