Evita Manji releases debut album ‘Spandrel?’

Manji will be supporting TAAHLIAH at the Southbank Centre tomorrow night

Evita Manji releases debut album ‘Spandrel?’

Evita Manji has released their debut album ‘Spandrel?’ via Berlin label PAN.

Manji uses their raw vocals as well as a contemporary club sound, baroque pop, and experimental sound design throughout the album to portray themes of tragedy, romance, and poetry flowing throughout.

According to a press statement, the album name refers to “features of an organism that aren’t developments for survival, and seemingly possess no obvious purpose.”

Last year, they performs at festivals including Unsound, Lunchmeat, and Rhizom representing the SHAPE+ platform as well as in clubs from Berlin to London.

Also in 2022, they launched their own platform myxoxym, where they debuted two singles from the album Eyes/Not Enough' and ‘Oil/Too Much’.

The Greek-born artist has also collaborated with the likes of Rainy Miller, Palmistry, Cecile Believe on a myxoxym compilation album 'PLASMODIUM I' that is raising money towards Greek wildlife fund ANIMA.
