Engineered Garments gives New Balance’s iconic 990 silhouette a rework

New Balance and Engineered Garments’ second collaboration sees them both blending their iconic styles into one excellent release around the former's 990 silhouette.

The latter’s patchwork aesthetic and New Balance’s classic sporty vibe has been merged into three statement colourways. Coming in monochromatic black, grey and navy, the latest 990v5 features Engineered Garments’ iconic materialisation and is constructed with a different leather on each of the shoe’s overlays. Each trainer shares attention to detail and remains focused on using premium materials (as well as a local manufacturing).

Smooth leather, nubuck, suede, croc embossed nubuck, and lizard embossed nubuck are used to create a mismatch, while each shoe also comes with an Engineered Garments branded insert and shoe-box.

To celebrate the launch, New Balance and Engineered teamed up with three creative forces to shoot the collaboration—street style photographer Phil Oh, photographer Cam Hicks and videographer Antony Crooks. The results can be seen below.

The Engineered Garments x New Balance 990v5 will be available globally from September 7th in limited quantities through New Balance and Engineered Garments, as well as other selected retailers.
