E.M.M.A goes 'medieval funky' on new single
Two slices of instrumental grime on Bristol's Coyote Records
E.M.M.A has announced ‘Mindmaze / Pumpkin Emoji’, her two-track debut on Bristol’s Coyote Records.
Set for release on November 10, the London-based artist describes A-side ‘Mindmaze’, a track she made for Mumdance’s Rinse FM show, as sounding like ‘medieval funky’. On it she pokes fun at serious club types, using Windows 95-era melodies over a stomping four-to-the-floor beat. B-side ‘Punking Emoji’ is a sleeker affair featuring the producer’s trademark glossy 808 textures.
After a number of releases on US imprint Astral Plane, the London-based producer returns to Coyote Records for her first proper release on the label. E.M.M.A first appeared on the Bristol label - which focuses on instrumental grime - in 2015 when she featured on Spokes’ ‘Green Eyes’ EP.
