Dr Dre's rolling back the years for Straight Outta Compton soundtrack
The former N.W.A producer has reportedly worked with Kendrick Lamar and Eminem on the album
You'd be forgiven if you forgot about Dre for a while, bearing in mind he hasn't released an album in 16 years, but the Dr will be bringing an end to that soon.
The California producer, whose last LP was '2001', is taking care of the soundtrack for the N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton, handling all the production himself, with guest spots from Kendrick Lamar and Eminem.
Former N.W.A man Ice Cube spilled the beans about it on Philadelphia's Rise & Grind radio show, saying: "It's mega. It's Dr Dre, it's what everybody's been waiting for. It's definitely a dope record, and he's dropping it all on the same day."
The day Ice alludes to is August 1, although Rolling Stone believe it'll be released at a later date. Expect to find out the date exactly on August 1, though, as Dre will reportedly confirm all details about the release on his Beats 1 show.
Straight Outta Compton hits screens on August 14 so we reckon we'll be hearing the soundtrack within the next two weeks.
