Sankeys Manchester announced its closure last night and a host of DJs, promoters and music industry individuals have paid tribute to the club on social media.

Reports state the Beehive Mill building it has been situated in since 1994 has been sold to property developers, leaving Sankeys with no choice but to close.

Unsurprisingly, DJs who have played there in the past, such as Chase & Status and Darius Syrossian, have shared their love for the venue online, with London's Night Czar Amy Lamé and Sacha Lord of The Warehouse Project also commenting on the situation.
