Dive into a new musical project from Dirty Bird
The new record 'Wagenmuzik' dropped earlier this week and is marking a "turning point" in his career
Dirty Bird - aka GUM - has unveiled his latest musical project: an EP, 'Wagenmuzik', via his own imprint Gum Studios.
The release follows on from last month's single release, 'Let's Touch', which was a euphoric affair consisting of stabs of synth, uptempo drums and breathy vocals from vocalist Leon English.
'Wagenmuzik' is his most focused work yet amidst his dozens of releases in his short career span: the six-tracker traverses through a variety of emotions weaving its way through house, jungle, UK Garage and footwork sounds.

"It’s nice to have the EP be well-received," he notes on the day of release. "I was pretty anxious about it at first since the scope of it was smaller and more focused than some of the concept albums I’ve done in the past, but it feels like I’ve capitalised on the feel-good summer vibes.
"The quality of the music and the level of support it is obtaining makes it a turning point in my career."

Not restricted to production and DJing, Dirty Bird is also an animator, lecturer and visual artist. Dubbed a 'renaissance man', experimentation is at the core of his works, having garnered friendships with MIKE and previous Mixmag cover star Earl Sweatshirt.
