Dinamo Azari (Carl Craig Remix)
The Detroit pioneer strikes again
Dinamo Azari is no stranger to the spotlight. He was the Azari in the globetrotting band Azari & III and now the Montreal-born, Toronto-based artist is going it alone. He's just dropped his debut solo album 'Estranged' and it's an extremely impressive composition of work.
The first single to emerge from the LP was 'Victim' late last year and the woozy, washed-out house track showcased those sultry vocals and big, bounding basslines. Now there are a set of remixes to accompany the track and we've got the premiere of a very special re-imagining.
When it comes to pioneering Detroit artists, a few names spring to mind. Jeff Mills, Robert Hood and of course Planet E's fearless leader Carl Craig. Carl graced our cover back in 2012 and he optimises the forward-thinking sound of the Motor City.
His DJ sets are a sight to behold, his live Modular Pursuits show is nothing short of mesmerising and his remixes? Well they're all dancefloor monsters and his dub of 'Victim' is absolutely no different.
It's a super-charged, demonic roller where the rugged riffs transform without warning, while those classic C2 drums rattle in the background. There are intergalactic zaps, majestic cymbals and vocals that'll give you goosebumps.
Carl Craig has done it again, but then thinking about, did we expect any less?
The 'Victim' remixes will be released on April 29
